Who Are We?
Georgetown Dog Rescue is a collaborative
effort between Georgetown Animal
Outreach (501c3) and JLRescue.
Georgetown is 20 miles north of Austin, in
central Texas.
We are committed to finding permanent,
loving, responsible homes for dogs, most of
whom have been at the city of
Georgetown's municipal animal shelter. We
are all volunteers.
AFTER NINE MONTHS -
ADOPTED!
Major -- seen here -- is a beautiful
dogo argentino boy. He needs a
stable, loving home. He might look
big and tough, but he's really just a
sweet, affectionate baby who
needs a person to be his best
buddy and to commit to him
forever. For more information go to
"adoptable dogs".
Meet Buster! He's a
wonderful mixed breed boy
who was in a municipal
shelter and needed rescue
or else! -- see more about
him on our adoptable dogs
pages.
Dundee is adopted! He was a scared boy - running
alone for several days before animal control was
able to catch him. Not sure what his story was
before that, but now we're committed to finding
this sweet boy a good home and giving him a
better life.
This is in memory of lovely Randy.
We lost him to heartworms during
his treatment. PLEASE keep your
dogs up-to-date on their heartworm
preventative. We take so many in
who are heartworm positive and try
to get them through the harsh
treatment. He's the first one we lost.
We are so sorry - he almost made it
to the good life. We will miss him.
Ok, you cannot resist Rosey! She's a
tough girl - broken leg, all alone, lots of
surgery - and she still wants to love on
the kids! See her on our adoptable
pets page.
Thunder is a sweet lapdog -- ok,
maybe a bit large for a lapdog,
but as you can see he loves to
hang out right on you. This 18
month old rottweiler/shepherd
mix is a gentle boy who just
wants a chance. He needs hip
surgery, but we are getting it
scheduled. Now he just needs a
person to commit to him. He is
worth it!
These three month old
cattledog/border collie mix pups
were dumped by the side of the
road. They're getting up-to-date on
their veterinary care and will be
ready to go to a home the first
week of May. Two little girls and
one little boy - they're lovely.
